Tattoo Apprenticeship 2017

I know I've been quiet on the updating front lately, but it's been NUTS lately...

For the past two months, I've been working full-time at Urban Ink Tattoo Studios as a Tattoo Apprentice!

I'm absolutely thrilled to be a part of the team!
I can't wait to develop and expand my art, as well as learn a new trade.

Everyone has been so welcoming and supportive! <3

Blurgh! The Cat and alligator-design are still very much active!
But updates from me will be fewer than they were previously,
while I settle into my bitchin' new life.

Meanwhile, you can still follow my new artventure (huehuehue) at the following:

Here's some pieces I've drawn over the last two months, to contribute to my future portfolio:
My Apprenticeship Trial Week Challenge; Draw a Photo-Realistic Tiger Head Portrait!

First Trial as a Fully-Fledged Apprentice! Photo-Realistic Portrait of the Head Apprentice, Dr. Flash (Danny!)

"Skail" - Photo-Realism/Fantasy Practice

December 2016

It's my first update here for quite a while, but don't mistake the silence for inactivity...
I've been working through a plethora of commissions; bands, authors and individuals!

Also over at Blurgh! The Black Metal Cat, things have been awesome and busy lately!
I'm excited to announce that I've been working on an
EXCLUSIVE traditionally inked 6 page comic which will
be published in SATANIC MOJO COMIX in Spring 2017!

I also participated in my third Inktober running
this year...and made it to the end!

(I only made it Day 13 last year and Day 15 in 2014)

To see more of my Inktober pieces, head on over HERE!

Now this month has been a lot of fun :D
Unfortunately no completed commissions
to show at this time for this month, however...

Blurgh! The Cat

It's been an interesting month for Blurgh! The Cat...I decided to take part in the
INKTOBER challenge, where you aim to draw a complete ink drawing
for each day of the month. I only managed under half...but I got a bit
ambitious and carried away!

Day 1 - Blurgh

Day 2 - Roary

Day 3 - Squeal

Day 4 - Urk

Day 5 - Squeal fights Blurgh! Grindcore Z!!

Day 6 - Some character designs for the Blurgh graphic novel...

Day 7 - Creepy Blurgh on paper I use for wheatpasting!

Day 8 - Blurgh suffers a writer's block

Day 9 - Here's where I started to fail!!

Day 10 - Blurgh's Basement #1

Day 11 - Blurgh's Basement #2

Day 12 - Blurgh's Basement #3

The Blurgh's Basement installments will continue!!
But no longer as part of Inktober; as it's a bit late now...
They're super fun to draw, though!

Here's a recap of some of the works completed last month...

This was a fun one! A gothic Florges (Pokemon) and Windy (Cardcaptor Sakura)!

Blurgh! The Cat

I drew a traditionally inked full page Blurgh! The Cat comic for Northern Darkness Issue 6;
here is the single strip I drew for Issue 5! (Which I can now share ^_^)

Me and my Pokemon Red team!
I started drawing this piece for fun between commissions
a few weeks ago and finally got around to finishing the colouring.

A recap of select completed works from this month!
(There are some pieces that I will be unable to share until the September post).

How do THESE look for a gig line-up?! (Points to anyone who can decipher them!)
I was commissioned to design and create 3 metal logos in different styles;
each more unreadable than the last. These were a LOT of fun to design!! \m/
They will be used as part of a project by the client;
I will share more information when I am able.

Blurgh! The Cat
 I drew this as a celebration for a Blurgh! The Cat milestone;
his Facebook has now reached over 500+ frostbitten followers!! \m/

An exclusive Blurgh! The Cat strip will also be featured in
Northern Darkness Zine - Issue 6; which can be pre-ordered

JULY 2015

I decided that it might be a good idea to start documenting and art-dumping
(relax, not THAT sort of art-dumping!) at the end of each month with some of my creative endeavors...it helps me to see where I'm going and to keep track of progress.

This piece is a monthly podcast brought to you by the zany albeit loveable Joe and Rich!!
Listen to their first broadcast HERE!!

Blurgh! The Cat
Blurgh! The Cat made his first appearance since I put the webcomic on hiatus over a month ago in NORTHERN DARKNESS ZINE; a zine about current events happening in the Black Metal scene.
I've been drawing Blurgh traditionally with inks as opposed to digitally...and loving it! \m/

This dumb idea has also been in my head for a while...I did a rough idea last year (see to the left) in a sort of children's book style, but wanted to revisit the idea! I'd love to get a limited edition of mugs created or something.
Hail Satan! =^ಠ_ಠ^= \m/

I've been replaying Pokemon Red on my old Gameboy Colour
(despite buying a shiny new Batman Edition PS4 for my birthday...)
and also been catching up on One Piece, one of my favourite manga-series!
