First blog/sketchpad entry!

By documenting my creative endeavors in the form of an online blog, I hope to review my progress and exploration in the wonderful world of art! :)

I have started to delve into digital territory. Around two months ago, I began to attend 'InKUbator', a video-game club at my university in Kingston. Since then, I have been assigned an awesome team to try and make a game; something I've always wanted to do! Last month one of my team mates kindly let me borrow her WACOM tablet; something I wish I had gotten myself years ago! We also had a guest speaker come to guide us through the beginning levels of a video-game making program called Unity. Today, I finally made enough leeway on my dissertation and assessment work to give uploading textures onto 3D objects in Unity a shot! Being a total newbie when it comes to the computer stuff side of things, it wasn't as difficult as I thought!

To the right is a texture I scribbled up in Photoshop for a stripey ball. (I wouldn't usually copy and paste so lazily...it's just experimenting right now!)

...and to the left is a digital scribble I did for a crate object.

Dragged the Photoshop files into Unity, dragged them onto the objects and BOOM!! I've made my first 3D things ever :)  (Below!) Although not terribly complicated, this is my first step into the realm of digital-based art!
